In its ninth decade of providing access to the American dream through excellence in higher education, Long Island University (LIU) is a multi campus, diverse, doctoral institution of higher learning. One of the largest and most comprehensive private universities in the country, LIU offers more than 500 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree programs and certificates, and educates more than 23,000* students in degree-credit and continuing education programs in Brooklyn, Brookville (LIU Post), Brentwood, Riverhead, and Rockland and Westchester (LIU Hudson). Other academic units include LIU Pharmacy (the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences), which prepares students for successful careers in the fields of pharmacy and health care, and LIU Global, which provides a wide range of study abroad options at overseas centers in China and Costa Rica, as well as through programs in Australia, India, South Africa, Taiwan, and Thailand. LIU’s 581 full-time faculty members provide outstanding instruction, which is supplemented by internships and cooperative education opportunities. Participate in LIU’s English Language Institute, a program for non-native English speakers that helps you meet university requirements, and develop your skills in conversation, reading, writing, and grammar. LIU provides free tutoring in all areas of study, and ongoing English language support after you complete the program.

Entry Requirements

Postgraduate Programmes (e.g. Master)
Bachelor from a recognized university plus IELTS of 6.0.
IUBH also accepts a wide range of other accepted English tests:

For business graduates the duration of the programme is 4 semesters (2 years). For non-business graduates the duration is 5 semesters (2.5 years).

Undergraduate Programmes
Direct entry into 6-semesters bachelor programme:
IELTS of 6.0 (or other accepted tests, please ask our International Admission Team) plus higher Secondary School leaving certificate with scores in the top 30% of your academic year plus either:
SAT (Standardized Test for College Admission) > 1,400 Pts or
ACT (American College Testing) > 20 points or
Pass the IUBH entry test in one of our partner´s offices.

Entry via our Foundation Programmes:
If you do not yet qualify for a direct entry in our bachelor programme – or you want a solid preparation for your studies at the IUBH – you are very welcome to participate in one of the following programmes:

Regular Track: 5 months foundation programme
– Starting dates April 15th & October 15th
Intensive Track: 10 months foundation programme to ensure success
