The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is one of the UAE’s oldest and most prestigious universities. Please note that textbooks, photocopying, personal stationery items and other incidental costs are not included in the tuition fees.

Academic Requirements
Candidates who hold a Masters degree in a business related discipline may apply for the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program.
Applicants must have completed their studies from a recognised tertiary institution and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.3 on a scale of 4.0 (or equivalent).
English Language Requirements
All instruction at UOWD is carried out in English and you will need to demonstrate an adequate level of English language proficiency in order to enrol in a program at the University. English language skills are assessed based on a number of criteria including writing skills as demonstrated in your research proposal, language skills as demonstrated at the interview stage, and the submission of an Academic IELTS (or equivalent) result with an overall score of 6.5 and a minimum of 6 in each band.
Additionally, you will be required to sit the WritePlacer test (at a cost of AED 150) to determine what further support (if any) you may need in academic writing. Based on the results of the WritePlacer, you may be required to successfully complete an additional English course –Writing for Research – at a cost of AED 6,850 in the first semester. A minimum grade of ‘C’ (Credit) is required in the subject Writing for Research (which is a non-credit bearing subject).

UOW Australia is the 12th highest ranked Australian University and has achieved five out of five stars in all six educational categories assessed by the Good Universities Guide 2013. Against this benchmark, students at UOWD can be assured an international standard of education, earning a degree that is recognised locally and can be transferred to an Australian qualification on completion of study.
