Located in the town of Orono along the banks of the Stillwater River, the University of Maine offers a strong traditional education at an affordable price. The state’s land grant university and the flagship institution in the University of Maine System, UMaine is one of New England’s premier universities. At UMaine, you’ll enjoy the world through 90 undergraduate majors and academic programs, 70 master’s degree programs, and 35 doctoral programs. Our library is the largest in the state, we have one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious Honors programs, now the Honors College, and our students enjoy hands-on research, even at the undergraduate level.

The Division of Lifelong Learning (DLL) Advising Center was created to serve those students engaged in any one of our many programmatic offerings, such as UMaineOnline, Summer University, Travel Study, Academ-e, non-degree student registration and advising, and more.

The mission of DLL is to promote learning as a continuous and lifelong process and to provide experiences that enhance quality of life, empower individuals and organizations, improve professional practice and foster global understanding throughout Maine and beyond. Dates and Deadlines

UMaine does rolling admissions, so technically, there isn’t one, but we do suggest filing your application by Feb. 1 so you’ll be in the best position to receive an admission decision in time for full consideration for financial aid and housing.

Intensive English

The Intensive English Institute (IEI) at the University of Maine provides quality English language instruction for students at all levels in a fun, safe, small group environment with an emphasis on students’ needs. IEI students have access to all UMaine campus resources. The IEI is a unit within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
