Overview
Located in the beautiful Fraser Valley just east of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) is a fully accredited, public university that enrolls approximately 15,000 students per year. UFV has campuses and locations in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, Hope and Agassiz, and a growing presence in Chandigarh, India.
UFV strives to be a place of learning that recognizes, respects and includes indigenous ways of knowing. Our Fraser Valley locations are in the traditional territory of the Stó:lō peoples.

Mission Statement
The International Student Club is here to celebrate diversity in our university. We are dedicated to promote the internationalization of UFV. ISC will focus on helping International and exchange students integrate into their new school, student body, and community by providing endless opportunities to enrich their living and learning experience while studying at UFV. We will do so by organizing and promoting trips, events, and activities, which will give all local and international students a platform to socialize, learn, and have fun in a friendly and inclusive environment.
UFV has three four-month semesters:
Fall: September to December
Winter: January to April
Summer: May to August (full session)
May to June (early session) and July to August (late session)
WHEN TO APPLY: Apply early! Seats in many programs are limited. Applying by the stated deadline does nto guarantee admission. Applications that remain incomplete by the deadline may have to be deferred to the next semester.

The cost of education in Canada is among the lowest in the world and UFV’s international tuition costs compare well with other Canadian universities. All fees quoted below are in Canadian funds.

There are three types of requirements that students must meet to qualify for admission at UFV: general requirements, English requirements, and program requirements. Review all three attentively to ensure timely admission.
General requirements
Applicants must have completed the equivalent of Canadian Grade 12(Form Six or five O-levels plus at least two A-levels) or near-equivalent standing and specific program prerequisites for admission into any career, technical, or academic program.
English requirements

Students with lower scores must first apply to the ESL program. Applications with no proficiency score cannot be processed.

Program requirements
Please consult a copy of the UFV academic calendar for detailed admissions requirements for each program. Applicants for the English Second Language Program must have high school or Form Five completion and be at least eighteen years of age.
Although students may be conditionally accepted into academic or career programs based on their transcripts and language proficiency score, they may need to take upgrading classes to meet math, science, or other requirements, as required by their program of study,
WHAT WE OFFER
UFV is large enough to offer variety, and yet our small class sizes allow students to get to know their instructors and learn in a hands-on environment. We offer more than 100 programs, including two master’s degrees, 15 bachelor’s degrees, majors, minors, and extended minors in more than 30 subject areas, and more than a dozen trades and technology programs. Our admission policies are flexible, and students can learn in a variety of ways: full-time, part-time, in-class, online, as part of a structured program or one tailored completely to their interests.
Many of our programs ladder into one another, allowing students to earn a one-year certificate and/or a two-year diploma on the way to completing a full degree. Others offer a co-operative education option, where students can combine study with professional, paid work experience. Our emphasis on applied research offers many opportunities for student researchers. Our thriving international programmingmakes for a culturally diverse student community and great opportunities to study abroad. Our continuing studies and academic upgrading offerings make learning a lifelong experience. Many clubs, events, and activities enhance student life on campus and our award-winning Cascades athletics teams are highly competitive.

The University of the Fraser Valley, as established by the University Act of British Columbia, is mandated to serve the post-secondary educational needs of its region. Specifically, UFV provides post-secondary academic, trade, technical, career and adult basic education programs that lead to certificates, diplomas, and degrees, at both the undergraduate and master’s level. Faculty and staff are also engaged in foundational and applied research and other scholarly activities that support its program areas and the development of the Fraser Valley.
