The main aim of this Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) accredited programme is to enable you to perform effectively as a human resource professional by developing the knowledge, skills and competence you require to be an astute and capable HR practitioner.
Through detailed study of business and human resource management (HRM), it offers a balance between the relevant academic concepts, theoretical frameworks and academic knowledge and practical knowledge and skills.
The programme is designed to provide an overall strategic perspective on human resource management and is structured to offer you the opportunity to select areas of specialism.
This programme provides the knowledge required for a professional level of CIPD membership.
Why choose this course?
A top-up programme is also offered for students who already hold the CIPD Postgraduate Diploma qualification. Students are required to complete the research methods module which takes place over six evening workshops between October and December. Students are then allocated to a dissertation supervisor who will support them to prepare a 15,000 word individual dissertation based on an HR related management topic. On successful completion of their dissertation, students will be awarded an MA in Human Resource Management.

What are the entry requirements?
For the MA programme, applicants must hold an honours degree (or equivalent) but alternatively a CIPD Intermediate qualification and experience in HR would be appropriate.
For the top-up programme only, applicants should hold a graduate/full CIPD membership or a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management.
Applicants will normally be interviewed before acceptance onto any routes of this programme.
